SonarChart™ Live Using a Digital Yacht Wireless NMEA Server
To facilitate this process, two connections need to be established.
Firstly, your plotter will need to be connected to your Digital Yacht NMEA device. Instructions on how to do this will vary from plotter to plotter. You will need to consult this guide and select your plotter from the list for specific configuration instructions.
Once you have done this, the Navionics Boating app will need to be connected to your Digital Yacht device.
To receive NMEA and AIS data on Navionics, the connection is automatic.
Go to MENU>CONNECTED DEVICES. From here, you should see that the app has automatically connected to a Digital Yacht device. If it is not, you will need to configure the connection manually. To do so, follow the instructions from the Digital Yacht website. (NOTE: from this link, you will need to select Boating Navionics from the list of software options.)
How to create SonarChart™ Live Close any apps that may have used the compatible device’s Wi-Fi. Connect your mobile to the Wi-Fi of the device, then open the Navionics Boating app. A new map is created instantly on-screen as you move across the water. Adjust color and transparency with Menu>Map Options>SonarChart™ Live Settings.
