Mobile: Connections Feature

Stay connected with your friends and other boaters using the Connections feature within your app.

GETTING STARTED

•  Go to Menu > Me/[Name]
•  Add your name and a photo to make it easier for friends to find you

CONNECT

•  Search Garmin, Navionics and ActiveCaptain® users by name or email
•  Tap "Connect" to send them a request
•  Does not require a subscription

MANAGE CONNECTIONS

•  Go to Menu > Connections to view your list 
•  Select Accept or Decline on incoming requests
•  To remove a Connection, tap on the person's profile, select the 3 dots in the upper-right & select Remove Connection

SHARE LIVE LOCATION*

•  Go to Menu and under My GPS Location tap "Show on Map"
•  Tap the Share Live Location button
•  Select which of your Connections you would like to share your location with
•  Live location is shared for 24 hours or until you stop the connection manually

VIEW SHARED LOCATION*

•  From the email you received on a device with the Boating app installed, click the link to show the position on the map
•  From the app, go to Menu > Connections, then select the user's profile, then Show on Map

SHARE SAVED ITEMS*

•  From the app, go to your saved items by selecting the Menu and then Routes, Tracks or Markers
•  Select an item to share, or tap the Select button/3 vertical dots in the upper right to select multiples
•  Tap the Share button in the lower left
•  Select Specific Connections (and select the Connections to share with) or All my Connections  

VIEW SHARED ITEMS*

•  Tap the app notification or select a Connection from your Menu to view shared items
•  Select the download button to the right of the name to download it to your own Archive (the icon will be replaced with a check)

* Requires an active subscription within the Boating app.
