Community Edits - How to Edit

Community Edits allows the Mobile user to edit their mapping information to reflect changes in chart data (e.g., movement of a seasonal buoy), add information (e.g., a rock or boat ramp), or edit information (e.g., add/change services for a particular marina).  Community Edits are shared with the entire Navionics Community, including both Mobile users and plug-and-play users with compatible plotters.  If you wish to mark a spot for your own personal information, such as a spot where you want to go back to fish, you would want to create a Marker in your Favorites, which is only available to you personally.

In order to participate in Community Edits, you will be asked to create a Navionics Account. Once signed in you can use the Edit Map feature.

To add an item to share with the Navionics Community, do the following:

  1. Select a spot on the map to add the item using the cross hairs
  2. Tap the question mark (?) on the right side
  3. In the Quick Info screen, tap the Add button
  4. Choose a Category
  5. Pick the specific item you want to add
  6. Add further details about your item
  7. Tap the Add button to save
To edit or delete an item that already exists on the mapping, do the following
  1. Select a spot on the map to add the item using the cross hairs
  2. Tap the question mark (?) on the right side
  3. In the Quick Info screen, choose the item to edit
  4. Tap Edit in the upper right
  5. From the options, select Edit, Move or Delete
Note: Items that are part of the physical Navionics chart data, like a buoy, cannot be physically deleted from the map. These items will still remain on the map, but be denoted with a small red X marking it as an item a user reports as no longer existing.
